The way I approach my work has just as much to do with who I am outside of marketing.
When I first started working as a copywriter (7+ years ago!) it felt like a dream come true. Writing full time?! Thankfully that feeling has never really gone away. Still, over the years, I have started longing to make space in my work for the other foundational pieces of who I am:
💻 I’m a poet and fiction writer, so I care about rhythm, subtext, specificity, and the difference one word can make.
🍄 I’m a solarpunk enthusiast, endlessly interested in the worlds we could build and the choices we make now that move us closer to them.
đź‡đź‡ą I’m a second-generation Haitian-American, which has made me deeply aware of how culture shapes the way we see, understand, and move through the world.
🪴 I’m a plant mom with a soft spot for things that need time, attention, and the right conditions to grow.
👩‍❤️‍👩 And I have, on more than one occasion, gone from contractor to friend—which might tell you something about how I approach “work” life.
